Another shoot, on Hull Pier, 4 Dec, 2013.

Click here to see as a slideshow presentation on Utube

This was shot on and around Hull Pier, on the east coast of Yorkshire, U.K. (The U.K. City of Culture) Despite the blue sky and sunshine it was very very cold, the model Kerrie Rymer, not a pro, but dealt with it like one. The light was very harsh, which wasnt very good for her, and caused a lot of harsh shadows on her face, but made for some interesting shadows elsewhere. We both enjoyed it and still got some decent stuff, despite the cold etc. Go to my website or fb page to see more. Thanks.

Photoshoot on the old Fish Dock, Hull, U.K.

Just wanted to share the results from a recent shoot I did with a lovely young girl, not a pro model but I think she could be. I wanted to do it on the old desolate and derelict Fish Dock in Hull, I thought it would make an interesting backdrop, more can be seen on my fb page or my personal website.

'Fire in the Sky'

Its not often I manipulate my images, I like to keep it real, creativity starts the moment you look through the viewfinder, hand, eye, heart. However I sometimes like to play about in photoshop, the above image I put together from two other images, the background/sky is a sunrise I took last Summer from my bedroom window. The building in the foreground is from another image I took of an old derelict building on the river Hull, Bankside, U.K. I simply selected the building, copy and pasted it onto the other, and cropped it where needed. Simple, but I quite like the result.

Town & Country

Im working on a new Exhibition, which I hope to get in some good venues/gallerys. Because I enjoy street/urban photography aswell as traditional landscapes, I decided to combine the two, titled 'Town & Country' I have included a good mixture, both b/w and colour images, often I can never decide which I prefer, but I like both. I dont like to over contextualize my work, rather I prefer to allow the viewers own interpretation. Also I believe any piece of art should be able to stand alone on its own merits without having to read endless blurb in order to "get it". Click on the the link below, to see the images on a slide show I put together on Youtube.

Winters day on Beverley Westwood

Discovered another advantage of digital over film photography, while taking these series of images on Beverley Westwood, East Yorkshire, U.K. No need to change films when your hands are cold!
